We are pleased to introduce our summer ELAW Fellow, Daena Rosa Lobo.

Daena is a sentencing judge in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and was recommended for a Fellowship by ELAW partners at Instituto de Derecho Ambiental de Honduras (Environmental Law Institute of Honduras, IDAMHO).

Daena participates as an expert in IDAHMO trainings for judges, prosecutors, and communities on environmental law and human rights.

Daena worked previously with Father Jose Andres Tamayo.  Father Tamayo led the Environmental Movement of Olancho (MAO) and was honored with the 2005 Goldman Environmental Prize.

This summer, Daena will work one-on-one with ELAW Staff Attorneys and Staff Scientists, and participate in the Intensive English Program at the University of Oregon’s American English Institute.

Many thanks to Mountain Rose Herbs for supporting Daena’s Fellowship.  Also, thanks to AEI for providing Daena with a Director’s Distinction Scholarship.  For more information about the ELAW Fellows Program, please contact:
