Factories Act, 1965 (selected sections)

Section 13. Disposal of wastes and effluents. -

(1) Effective arrangements shall be made in every factory for the disposal of wastes and effluents due to the manufacturing process carried on therein.

(2) The Government may make rules prescribing the arrangements to be made in accordance with sub-section (1) or requiring that the arrangement made in accordance with sub-section (1) shall be approved by such authority as may be prescribed.

2. Definitions.-

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires. -

(dd) "outlet" includes any conduit pipe or channel, open or closed, carrying sewage or trade effluent or any other holding arrangement which causes, or is likely to cause, pollution;

In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5 and 18 of the Swaziland Environment Authority Act, 1992, and having consulted with the Authority, the Minister for Tourism, Environment and Communications makes the following Regulations -

Citation and Commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Water Pollution Control Regulations, 1999 and come into operation on the date of publication in the Gazette.

1. This Act may be cited as the Water Act 2003, and shall come into force on such date as the Minister may by notice in the Gazette, determine.
