Summer ELAW Fellow from Honduras

We are pleased to introduce our new ELAW Fellow, Diana Vasquez from Tegucigalpa, Honduras.  Diana is a marine biologist and Executive Director at Centro de Estudios Marinos (Center for Marine Ecology, CEM).

Diana will be at ELAW this summer to advance her organization’s work protecting marine biodiversity along the coast of Honduras. She will also participate in the Intensive English Program at the University of Oregon’s American English Institute.

ELAW has a long history of working with grassroots advocates to protect the Mesoamerican Reef Ecoregion. We are thrilled to work with Diana to advance CEM’s mission —  “To improve the welfare and economic growth in Honduras through support in the management and sustainable use of its marine biodiversity

Many thanks to the Summit Foundation, MAR Fund, and many individual donors for supporting ELAW’s work in the Mesoamerican Reef Ecoregion.  And thanks to the American English Institute for providing Diana with a Director’s Distinction Scholarship.
