Information Collection and Use
The U.S. office of the Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide is the sole owner of the information collected on this website. We do not sell, share, or rent this information to others in any way different from what is disclosed in this statement without first attempting to notify the user using the contact information provided previously.
This website contains links to other web sites. Please be aware that ELAW U.S. is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other websites. We encourage our users to be aware of when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this website.
Subscription to ELAW U.S. Email and Print Publications
In order to subscribe to ELAW U.S. Email and Print publications through this website a user must provide contact information (like name, email address and/or mailing address). This information is used to fill users' subscription requests. If we have trouble processing a request, this contact information is used to get in touch with the user. ELAW U.S. does not request or collect demographic information (such as income level and gender), or other unique identifiers (such as social security numbers) during this process.
All new users subscribing to our email publications via this website are sent a welcoming email to verify their subscription. This welcoming email includes instructions for opting out of our email distribution list. This information is also available in our Choice and Opt-out section below.
Participating in ELAW U.S. "Campaigns"
In the "Join Campaigns" section of this website, ELAW U.S. collects personally identifiable information, such as name, address and email address, for the purposes of influencing government policy and corporate behavior. ELAW U.S. may share this personally identifiable information with our partners who are co-sponsoring the campaign. We do not otherwise share, rent, or sell this information to our partners or other organizations except as disclosed in this privacy policy.
ELAW U.S. retains contact information provided when a user joins a campaign in order to provide updates as to the outcome of the campaign. ELAW U.S. may use this information to subscribe the user to ELAW publications, such as "e-Bulletins" and the "ELAW Advocate" newsletter if the user grants us permission to do so while joining a campaign. ELAW U.S. may contact campaign co-signers in the future for purposes of fundraising or to advise them on current and future ELAW activities or campaigns.
Correction/Updating Personal Information:
If a user's personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to correct, update or remove that user's personal data. Corrections should be sent to ELAW U.S., as described in the "Contact Information" section of this policy.
Choice and Opt-out
Users are not prompted to provide any information to ELAW U.S. or to receive any email or printed communication unless they purposely access our email and newsletter subscription request form, or sign up for an ELAW U.S. "Campaign."
Users may opt-out of our email bulletins by sending an email from the subscribed address to bulletin-unsubscribe@elaw.org. Users may opt-out of our email newsletter by sending an email from the subscribed address to newsletter-unsubscribe@elaw.org.
Users who no longer wish to receive other ELAW U.S. email or print communications may opt-out by contacting ELAW U.S., as described in the "Contact Information" section of this policy.
Cookies
This site does not use persitent cookies. This site uses session cookies to track certain aspects of visitors' preferences for things such as site language. This site does not use cookies to collect personally identifying information about unauthenticated visitors.
Sharing
We do not share contact information or aggregated demographic information with our partners or sponsors without first attempting to notify the user using the contact information provided previously.
Log Files
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement on our site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.
Security
This website takes every precaution to protect our users' information. We do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. All employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices.
Any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our users' information is protected.

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our website so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. Users will be give the choice of whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
